Norman brings over 45-years of executive and field leadership in multiple domains to include: private-not-for-profit, for-profit business consulting, higher education, human services, Federal government, and national/international non-government organization (NGO). He is experienced in domestic Incident Command System (ICS) to include operational planning (Operations Support Lead for large geographic area) and command and general staff orientation and training.

Norman’s international NGO experience includes tactical and field operations leadership in Mozambique, The Bahamas, Papua New Guinea, Haiti, Poland, and Ukraine; engaged with and navigated United Nations international disaster response structure (cluster system); provided successful initial political contact and ongoing communications for reconnaissance and advanced echelon ingress of World Health Organization, Emergency Medical Team – type 1-mobile resources; and  provided effective liaison officer duties in coordination of medical and general disaster response services.  These engagements involved host government agencies, local community leadership, established medical providers, public works professionals, and peer NGO representatives.

His successful background includes human services program development, and creation and delivery of professional continuing education and graduate courses at master’s and doctoral levels.  Experience in budget development and management, professional staff recruitment, training, supervision, and removal as required. Norman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, a Master’s degree in Counseling, and a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology.

Current organizational contributions and strengths include coaching and mentoring of field staff and executive leadership; support in setting and communicating organizational vision, ethics, goals, and values; and internal/external conflict resolution.
